Consume SOAP Web Services with NTLM authentication in PHP

SOAP was created to promote "interoperability" between different systems. Most of the times consuming web services is straightforward, but things change when you have restrictions based on the programming language used to develop the Web Service. One complex issue is how to consume Web Services that use NTLM (NT Lan Manager) authentication, which is specific to Microsoft.

PHP doesn't have a native solution, so there's only an alternative solution, which I'll present in this article.
